Updated: Aug 10, 2023

When it comes to the world of wine, we often associate it with the grandeur of vineyards, the elegance of renowned wineries, and the allure of established wine distributors. However, there is an emerging trend that is redefining the wine landscape - the rise of small wine distributors. These lesser-known players have their own unique charm and offerings, and they bring a fresh perspective to the wine industry. Here we can discuss the importance of working with small wine distributors.

As a small wine distributor, I have, so far, imported fifteen different delicious German Wines. I have six additional set up to come next! Did I also mention that none of them are were/are available in the United States? My initial goal to satisfy my selfish love of the wine and getting it to the US, has changed to now share these wines and educate the public that German wine is NOT all sweet! I searched for small, family owned wineries to seek out these hidden gems. By partnering with small wine distributors, wine enthusiasts can access a diverse array of wines that showcase the true craftmanship and heart in each glass. Working with small distributors also allows for a more expansive and unique wine list providing your customers exciting choices that they cannot get from the grocery store.

Small Wine Distributors offer Personalized Attention

Unlike the big guys, small wine distributors, may have the ability to handle event orders, smaller or mixed box orders or even retail partnerships for those who don't have large storage space. A small wine distributor can help you get the wine off your shelves as they will help promote their wines! Small wine distributors not only love the wine that they personally chose to import, but they have strong relationships with the wineries they serve. Working with small distributors keeps us at the forefront of the wine industry, ensuring we can embrace new experiences and savor the latest discoveries.

Finally, smaller may not always be better, but a small wine distributor should be included in your wine portfolio!

While larger wine distributors have long dominated the market, the rise of small wine distributors has added a refreshing dimension to the wine industry. These passionate and knowledgeable individuals bring a diverse selection, personalized attention, and unwavering support to artisanal producers. By working with small wine distributors, we not only expand our wine horizons but also contribute to the preservation of the wine world's rich tapestry. So, let us raise a glass to the unsung heroes of the wine trade and embrace the essence they bring to our glasses. Cheers!
